Great winter destination right across from Ottawa
Gatineau in winter is something else. The trails at Gatineau Park are well-maintained and the cross-country skiing is just top notch. It never felt overcrowded and the scenery is gorgeous. People are super friendly and helpful too.
Perfect spot for a weekend escape
Came over from the US side and was really impressed. The Old Hull area has some great local restaurants and pubs, and the food scene is way better than I expected from a smaller city. Beaver tails along the way were a must! Really enjoyable trip overall.
Gatineau Park in winter is a must
Came specifically for the skiing and it delivered. The trails are varied enough for all levels, and the views over the Gatineau Hills are just stunning. Getting around was easy and affordable. Quiet, clean, and honestly a very pleasant city to spend a few days in.
Loved the fall colors in Gatineau
The fall foliage in Gatineau Park is absolutely unreal. Drove along Champlain Parkway and the colors were just breathtaking - oranges, reds, yellows everywhere. The city itself is relaxed and easy to navigate. A great place to slow down and enjoy the season.
Solid summer trip with the family
Spent a few days here with the kids and everyone had a great time. Lac Philippe is a fantastic spot for swimming and picnicking - clean water, sandy beach, easy parking. The city itself is calm and walkable. Way less hectic than Ottawa across the river. Kids loved it.
A nice city break with great food
Gatineau has a real French-Canadian character that sets it apart. Rue Laval has some lovely little spots to eat and hang out. Tried poutine at a local diner and it was genuinely one of the best I've had. Laid-back city, good people, no stress.
